Nature of Work

This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of recording contributions made to approximately 1800 funds within the Arizona Community Foundation.   In doing so, this position requires strong attention to detail, ability to adapt to seasonal fluctuations in work volume, and excellent customer service skills.   

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

Expedite the accurate processing of contributions according to the guidelines and policies of the foundation, working with a wide range of donors across the state.

Process all cash gifts, credit cards and pledges through data entry and reconciliation.

Process and record complex gifts and gifts of stock

Maintain supporting documentation for all contributions for annual audit preparation.

Maintain and handle event fund-raising for applicable funds.

Provide exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.

Support other Finance Department processes in a collaborative work environment.

Represent the Arizona Community Foundation in a positive and professional manner.

Assist Finance Department with reconciliations, schedules, and reporting tasks to meet donor and regulatory requests.

Knowledge or Skills

To successfully perform the functions of this position, candidate should possess the following:

Experience:

Two or more years of experience with demonstrated understanding of non-profit accounting rules.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Additional Distinguishing Factors:

  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel. 
  • Familiarity with databases and ability to learn and adapt to new technology.   
  • High attention to detail and high accuracy are essential.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written are essential, including an ability to comfortably interact with high net worth donors.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic and collaborative team player. 
  • Problem solver.
