“Understanding Behaviors in Dementia – Challenges and Tips for Caregivers”: Providing care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD) presents several challenges for family members and other caregivers. People with ADRD have a progressive brain disorder that makes it very difficult them to remember things, think clearly, communicate with others, understand others, balance their emotions and personalities and function appropriately to take care of themselves. This presentation will provide strategies for addressing behavioral problems and communication difficulties often experienced when caring for a person with ADRD.
