Latinos Work For Climate Change Forum
Wednesday, August 28, 2019 (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (MST)
Description
Climate Change is a very real threat to our quality of life. That
threat is even more dire to communities of color, particularly those that live
in areas vulnerable to pollution and extreme weather. Climate Change also
presents a unique opportunity to drive our economy towards clean energy
solutions that would make our air and water cleaner while energizing local
economies.
Arizona is ground zero for this critical policy debate. Arizona’s Latino electorate is rapidly growing and their federal representatives know they can no longer ignore this significant constituency. During the August recess, UnidosUS Action Fund’s activity will make it clear to Arizona’s federal officials that Latinos demand solutions to address Climate Change and to grow the new Green Economy.
UnidosUS Action Fund and our affiliate partner the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will organize a "Latinos Work For Climate Change Forum" August recess event in Arizona to highlight Latino leaders’ engagement in solutions to Climate Change through workforce and small business development.
